Luxuriant tea coffee cardamom pepper and rubber plantations stretch as far as the eye can see all over the hills of Wayanad. Wayanad is located in the Western Ghats at an elevation of 700 to 2100 meters above sea level on the north eastern tip of Kerala. The fast flowing Rivers Panamaram, Mananthavady, and Kabini cut across the undulating panorama and lends a picturesque look to this glorious hill station. Hidden away in the protective folds of the hills are some of the world’s oldest tribes who are still untouched by civilization. The hill station of Wayanad is known for its sprawling rice plantations, mist- clad hill stations, luxuriant forests as also rich cultural traditions.
